DFRobot寓意為Robot Dream Factory ，希望能創(chuàng)造出夢想中的機器人。DFRobot公司于2008年11月在北京成立，并于2010年和2011年分別在上海和成都成立了子公司。2012年，公司總部遷移至上海。

在發(fā)展早期，DFRobot專注于機器人產(chǎn)品的開發(fā)，通過自主研發(fā)和代理的方式，將新的機器人零部件介紹給國內(nèi)的高校和機器人愛好者。公司于2009年涉足開源硬件，也是國內(nèi)早正式將Arduino引入中國的公司。經(jīng)過4年多的快速發(fā)展，DFRobot已開發(fā)出超過600多種機器人和開源硬件的相關(guān)產(chǎn)品，DFRobot這個品牌也已經(jīng)成為**開源硬件、機器人產(chǎn)品的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)品牌。

DFRobot was founded on 2008 in Beijing, China. DFRobot is a professional robot technology developer, especially in open source hardware, mobile robot platform, robot sensors. Our first product is the URM37 V3.2 ultrasonic sensor which is now becoming a really popular distance sensor in robotics market. We are now the leading robotics online shop in China.

We are very active in open-source hardware community such as Arduino. Besides that we are the official Arduino distributor in China, we also had our own brand "DFRduino" which provides the same features but lower cost. DFRobot has developed the most comprehensive Arduino shields and sensors that can match most education, prototyping, DIY projects and research purposes.
