China stands erect in the world as an ancient civilized country and the hometown of spirits as well. In the five thousand years’ history of China, spirits and its culture have been playing an important role. Guguo spirits is a special food, not only being materialized but also having blended into our spiritual life. 據記載呂不韋，戰國末期人，商賈出身。因輔佐始皇登基有功，被始皇尊稱為仲父，任秦國相國，一時權傾朝野，府中食客三千，因為每天大量用酒所以自己家釀酒，有一次把釀好的酒獻給秦始皇飲用，秦始皇飲后大悅！封此酒為“古國”御用酒。呂不韋為了給自己留名，他讓府中食客編著了一本《呂氏春秋》，這本書形式統一但內容多樣，從而開創了雜家體例。
According to records, Lv Buwei, a business man in late Warring States Period, was entitled as “Guan Zhong in Qin Dynasty” for his contribution in helping Qin Shi Huang to come to the throne. During the term of the prime minister, he was influential and had three thousand hangers-on. Due to the great demand for spirits, his family made it by themselves. Once, Lv Buwei presented this self-made spirits to Qin Shi Huang, the emperor was greatly pleased and appointed it as “Guguo Spirits” specially served for the emperor. In order to be remembered, Lv Buwei asked his hangers-on to write the book “The Spring and Autumn of Lv Buwei” which is featured by a united form but various contents, being the initiate of eclectics.
到西漢時期,刺道縣人呂氏一家世代以祖傳佳釀白酒為業,酒以醇厚香甜而名揚巴蜀。武帝時期,大將軍衛青多次擊敗匈奴,舉國歡騰,武帝為賞賜衛青面向全國廣征貢品.呂氏一家遂把自家白酒進獻武帝，帝品嘗后大為夸贊，欽定此酒為宮廷貢酒，并因此酒的歷史悠遠而為其賜名“古國”賞賜給立下赫赫戰功的衛青及眾將，眾將每出征便帶上此酒，古國酒因此而名揚四海。這便是古國系列白酒的來源。
In the Western Han Dynasty, Lv’s family from Chidao County ran a business on their ancestral spirits which was well known in Sichuan by its mellow taste and sweet smelling. In the reign of Emperor Wudi, General Wei Qing conquered Xiongnu, an ancient nationality in China, time after time, and the whole nation was rejoicing. To reward Wei Qing, Emperor Wudi called for tributes in the nationwide. The Lv’s family presented their spirits, and it was praised by the Emperor and then ordered as a royal drink. Wudi named it as “Guguo” according to its long history, and then gave it to Wei Qing and other generals as a reward. From then on, when going out for battles, the generals would bring this spirits with them, making it nationwide famous. This is the origin of Guguo spirits.

The production base of Sichuan Guguo Spirits Co., Ltd. is located in the “Capital of Spirits”, Yibin, a historic, and cultural city with three thousand years’ old Chinese spirits culture. What’s more, the company has a “Museum of Guguo Spirits” and a “Bank of Guguo Spirits” in the Economic Development zone of Benxi City, Liaoning Province (10 minutes away from Shenyang Taoxian Airport by bus). Guoguo Spirits Base has an annual output of over 100 thousand tons finished spirits. The trademark registration permit of “Guguo” was obtained in 1993 from the Trademark Office of Administration Bureau for Industry and Commerce of PRC. Sichuan Guguo Spirits Co., Ltd. integrates local spirits cultures, and develops “Guguo Spirits”, “Guguo Crop Spirits”, “Guguo Royal Pits”, “Guguo Old Pits”, “Guguo Pits”, “Guguo Mellow Spirits”, “Guguo King”, and “Guguo Tribute” by inheriting traditional processes and making continuous improvements and innovations. All those spirits are featured by thick smells and persistent aftertastes, being a new model of strong flavor Chinese spirits.
