Navis Engineering Oy
Navis (now Navis Engineering Oy), founded in 1992, is a developer and supplier of high-quality automation and control systems for ships. Its head office is in Helsinki, Finland, where the production is carried out, while most of the research and development work is conducted in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Navis’ products have been used on vessels for the offshore oil and gas industry, and also for the transportation industry. The company, which launched its first DP system in 2001, has either delivered or contracted to supply dynamic positioning systems for more than 280 supply vessels, tugs, coast guard vessels, oceanographic, research and other special application vessels.
Navis has installed other ship control systems on more than 300 vessels. The company also supplies its DP systems for DP simulators to be set up at technical and maritime schools and training centres.
Navis has a staff of over 70. Many have university degrees in software engineering, electrical engineering, hydrodynamics, mechanics, and automated control systems
