General presentation
Medecins Sans Frontieres MSF is an international humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries. MSF has been doing such work around the world since 1971,and has been present in China since 1988.MSF has two operational sections active in mainland China the French and the Belgian section. Besides there are activities of MSF Campaign and MSF Hong Kong.
Mission context MSF Belgium started working in China in 1988. Initially,we focused on emergency relief after natural disasters such as snowstorms, floods and earthquakes. Gradually we shifted to longer term projects, such as water and sanitation projects and Kashin Beck disease respectively in Xinjiang and Tibet.
MSF Belgium has actually a comprehensive treatment and care project for HIV/AIDS patients in Hubei province which will be handed over in 2008. We're looking to open a MDR TB project in Inner Mongolia and eventually a basic health project for poor migrants in Beijing.
Since we're entering a period of capitalization of our HIV/Aids activities and starting up a new technical complex DR TB project, we're looking for an additional medical officer to support our coordination team.
