The George Institute for Global Health at Peking University Health Science Center is one of the four global centres of The George Institute for Global Health, which is located in Beijing. Building and coordinating a broad alliance between governments, universities, hospitals, and other research organizations across China, the Institute has become a leading health organization in China after years of development with over 70 full-time staff. It attracts numerous international and domestic visiting fellows and interns every year to participate in its research projects. The George Institute for Global Health at Peking University Health Science Center has four research programs - Hospital Care, Primary Care and Population Health, Diabetes Research, Biostatistics and Economic Evaluation - conducting research projects related to cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, nephropathy, injury, community health, school health and health policy. With a special focus on the health issues affecting the population in China and the deficiencies of China’s health care system, the institute translates research outcomes into policy and practice, provides policy makers with effective, high-impact, and low-cost evidence, therefore to improve the performance of the system, and help address major health issues in China.
