The CRPuO is a world-class Centre for Research in Photonics built by the University of Ottawa, and founded on existing strengths of Science, Engineering and Medicine. The CRPuO will fully explore the scientific foundations of photonics to develop a rigorous understanding of how photons may be manipulated and controlled as they interact with matter, apply theoretical and experimental knowledge to develop new classes of photonic materials and devices, and develop new systems concepts based on photonics technology
